The holder is made from strong, lightweight and durable aluminum alloy and toughened ABS plastic. WINOMO can hold up to 30kg (70 pounds) weight. A single unit includes four friction grips and five hooks. In the garage or gardening shed, use the holder to hang heavy items such as shovels and rakes. Although WINOMO is a great broom holder, it may not be as easy to install as its other competitors may.

Thanks to its 24 inches broom head, this broom can be considered on of the largest out there, especially in this price range. This makes it a very popular choice of broom and one of the best-selling brooms out there today. Soft and reflective bristles on the outside effortlessly sweep away every speck of dust and dirt, while the broom’s inner bristles take care of bigger and heavier dust particles.

Featuring a clean and compact design, Newdora is a perfect broom and mop organizer to take home. This highly versatile equipment is strong, sturdy, and weatherproof. The broom holder is consciously designed to give you long service without requiring replacement. It also features easy release design that also offers very firm grip ensuring your tools do not drop to the floor.

Honestly, the Quickie 00528 18-Inch Bulldozer Push Broom Indoor/Outdoor ($14 + $10 shipping) came close to being our top pick. It feels light, but it’s stiff and sturdy enough to push trapped leaves and piles of heavy sand with ease—without leaving huge streaks or lines of sand on the smooth concrete floor. Its combination of stiff, coarse inner fibers and finer outer fibers make it easy to move large debris and dust. In fact, it was the best overall performer in our tests, beating out all other synthetic-bristle brooms at moving a variety of materials. This was the only push broom that managed to move both pine needles and their dust from the driveway in one sweep. It was as capable as the others in moving leaves on and off a deck, and it handled sand on a concrete floor as well as all the other synthetic brooms.

The biggest flaw is a complaint you see popping up in roughly 10 percent of the Amazon reviews (and a few at Home Depot, too): the 60” steel handle snaps off at the head. That may be because the screw-end of the handle isn’t made of steel; it’s plastic—a lighter plastic than the “resin” plastic head. This particular break makes it difficult to replace the handle because you can’t unscrew the portion of the handle that’s still stuck in the broom head. You could probably use pliers to twist it out, as Wirecutter editor Harry Sawyers suggested to me, but you really shouldn’t have to do that to a broom, even if it is cheap. The steel handle has plastic threads, and you could potentially replace this handle with a new one that uses metal threads, and still come out at a lower price than the O’Cedar. Or you could get lucky and buy one that doesn’t unexpectedly break.

Yes. The pole will arrive short, but it extends to about twice the length. Simply hold one side in your right hand, and the other side in your left hand. Twist to loosen, then extend to your desired length, and twist in the opposite direction to make it tight. The pole will extend to normal broom length when all the way extended. You could also use the head on a longer handle if you need to. It has a standard thread.

I realize the sweep side of the mop is supposed to be used to collect dust in one place before picking it up like Tony mentioned. However I find the non-locking of the dual action flip mop to be annoying as well. Can you share what this other dust mop you use is?

The WOLF-Garten Outdoor Broom B40M ($23) is small for an outdoor push broom—it’s just 16” wide—and you’ll need to buy a $22 handle to go with it if you don’t already have a suite of WOLF-Garten tools. That brings the total cost to $45…plus the glue you’ll need to keep the handle from constantly shifting and clicking while you use the broom. Many Amazon reviewers are very happy with WOLF-Garten’s aluminum “Multi-Star” handle system, where a single pole with a push-button locking system attaches to a variety of different tool heads. But I found with the broom (as well as the WOLF-Garten rake I reviewed) that the handle attachment is loose and tends to rotate, wobble, and shift during use. It’s hard to work efficiently when it feels like the tool you’re using is going to fall apart at any moment. Eschew the Multi-Star for the galaxy of firm-handled brooms.

What really helped was when I learned that you can slide the grip up the shaft to a more natural gripping position. It’s still a little shorter than I’d find ideal, so my hands are a bit close together for super efficient sweeping, but it hasn’t proved to be a major problem.

The Casabella Wayclean Wide Angle Broom is the best broom for most people because it’s the most effective at sweeping particles of all sizes, has the best balance and grip of anything we tested, and at only $10, it’s also the cheapest. The detail that truly makes this broom rise above the rest is its bristles, which have a superior density, quantity, thickness, and stiffness compared to every other broom we tried. Beyond that, it meets all our requirements for a broom—angled, flagged, synthetic bristles and a convenient storage hook—and was universally loved by our testing panel.
