French broom: Pods brown at maturity, +/- compressed, 1-3 cm long, ~ 0.5 cm wide, densely covered with flattened long silky silvery to reddish-gold hairs, contain an average of 5-8 seeds. Seeds ovoid, shiny, smooth, black, ~ 2-3 mm long.

Bright and colorful, the Libman Roller is equipped with an attached brush for those messes that need a little extra attention. Its textured sponge accumulates dirt and debris effectively, so you don’t have to go over the same spot again and again.

In the Gospel of Luke 15:8 (The Parable of the Lost Coin), sweeping is mentioned, using a verb related to the word for a broom: Suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?

The flower buds and flowers of Cytisus scoparius have been used as a salad ingredient, raw or pickled, and were a popular ingredient for salmagundi or grand sallet during the 17th and 18th century. There are now concerns about the toxicity of broom, with potential effects on the heart and problems during pregnancy.[citation needed]

Scotch broom: Several species of ants are attracted to the seed appendages and disperse seeds while foraging. Seeds can survive 30 years or more under field conditions. About 50% of seeds produced in a season remain dormant. Scarification and/or a period of cool, moist vernalization enhances germination. Seeds heated to temperatures above 150º C for 2 minutes are killed, and seeds heated to 100º C for 1 minute appear to be more susceptible to fungal pathogens. Yet, burning in the field often appears to stimulate germination. Seeds germinate after the first rains in fall through early summer in inland areas, and winter through mid-summer in coastal regions. Seedlings can emerge from soil depths up to 8 cm, with optimal emergence from ~ 2 cm. Seedlings are subject to high summer mortality and browsing by wildlife during the first 2 years. Plants typically grow rapidly during years 3-4, often reaching a height of 2 m. Seed production begins during years 2 or 3, usually when plants reach a height of ~ 1 m. Shrubs are fully reproductive from years 3-5 through ~ 9. A mature shrub can produce ~ 2000-3500 pods. Seed production can decrease significantly during drought years. Individual shrubs live ~ 10-15(20) years.

But a Broom-Stick, perhaps you will say, is an Emblem of a Tree standing on its Head; and pray what is Man, but a Topsy-turvey Creature, his Animal Faculties perpetually mounted on his Rational; His Head where his Heels should be, groveling on the Earth, and yet with all his Faults, he sets up to be an universal Reformer and Corrector of Abuses, a Remover of Grievances, rakes every Sluts Corner of Nature, bringing hidden Corruptions to the Light, and raises a mighty Dust where there was none before, sharing deeply all the while, in the very same Pollutions he pretends to sweep away: His last Days are spent in Slavery to Women, and generally the least deserving; till worn to the Stumps, like his Brother Bezom, he is either kickt out of Doors, or made use of to kindle Flames, for others to warm themselves by.[13]

I’ve been looking for a mop like this for several years. I’ve looked in all the department stores and home improvement centers for a good old fashion sponge mop and this is it. I can’t count how many times I stood in Walmart, Target and Kmart talking to other people about the cheezy mops that are on the market today and how you can’t find a good old absorbant sponge mop. I just ordered another one of these and three replacement mopheads. Love this mop

The twigs and branches are serviceable not only for making brooms, but are also used for basket-work, especially in the island of Madeira. They are sometimes used in the north of England and Scotland for thatching cottages and cornricks, and as substitutes for reeds in making fences or screens.

I’m thinking the way to be sure to detect any power feeds reliably is turn everything in the apartment on when scanning, since it only detects live circuits. That way any circuits in there should be active at the time.

Mix warm water and your floor cleaner (follow directions on the bottle to see how much water, if any, you should mix the cleaner with–it varies) in a clean bucket. It doesn’t matter if the bucket is a mop bucket or a generic bucket, as long as it is wide enough for you to submerse the mop head.

For those that own large equipment they’d rather keep out of sight, such as a lawn mower or even bicycles, a storage shed can provide ample space. Some storage sheds are even fully finished inside and can make a great playhouse for children or even a separate office or relaxation space for adults. Storage buildings range in size and style, so it’s easy to find one that fits your needs and décor.

Perhaps the biggest change in the broom world over the last century is the rise of the synthetic lookalike. Following the development of the first synthetic fibers in the 1940s, companies like DuPont started creating filaments and extruded plastic products just in time for the consumer boom of the 1950s and 60s. These technologies were quickly adapted for brooms—especially the school janitor-size, “push” broom varieties—and these styles continue to sell alongside the old natural models today. Many homeowners keep one of each on hand, using the softer, plastic bristles on sensitive hardwoods and the hardier broomcorn for heavier jobs.

My review is the result of an over the phone purchase. I was desperately trying to purchase and have delivered to my home in Brooklyn NY a Galanz 7.6 cu. ft. Retro style top freezer refrigerator in red. After phoning all the stores closest to me and being told that either they didn’t have the item or wouldn’t deliver to Brooklyn, I was finally lucky enough to have Dorian Torres answer the phone when I called the Secaucus store. This wonderful young lady went well above and beyond the norm. to help me make the purchase and set the delivery. She was knowledgeable, helpful, courteous, pleasant, understanding and professional and should be recognized and rewarded for her efforts. Ms. Torres most certainly knows how to provide top notch customer service. And because this was a phone purchase I will replace with a smile and say with a wonderful sense of humor. This young lady is truly an ASSET to Home Depot. As a former Senior Operations Mgr. for Macy*s Herald Square, it is my recommendation that Ms. Torres be promoted to Director of Customer Service. Thank you so VERY MUCH Dorian.
