Good to know: If you’re having trouble fitting all of your cleaning tools and supplies in the kitchen, consider spreading out. Put the big vacuum in another closet and store only the broom and dustpan or a slim stick vacuum in the kitchen cupboard.
Organize all your yard tools with the monkey bar large yard tool rack. This rack will securely store 12-20 yard tools off the floor. Only 4 screws into 2 studs 48” apart, and you’re finished. No longer do you have to hang yard tools on nails on the wall where studs exist; this gives you the versatility to store everything off the ground and regain valuable floor space. This rack does not limit you on the size of yard tools; you can hang a wheel barrow, shovels, rakes, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and hedge clippers.
So, knowing the hanger is plastic, it does what it’s supposed to. I bought it when it was on sale for a fraction of the usual price. At the higher price it would have been a “no way”. You get what you pay for. The tool rack and a small cardboard retail pegboard hanger. There are NO instructions of any kind and no fastening devices like screws. Since it was actually designed to be used with Suncast sheds I was hoping it would snap or somehow fit into premade notches formed into the shed but no such luck. Since you have to screw it to the plastic walls of the shed it is no better of a rack than anything you would buy at the hardware store.

Synthetic dust mops are commonly stitched in a looped end pattern that prevents fraying and gives better pickup of soil. Because of the looped end construction, these dust mops can be laundered many times. It is also easy to shake them out or use a brush to clean them as well. Since there is no oily treatment, they are easily cleaned.
I really like the Casabella broom and Oxo dustpan which I recently purchased based on your recommendation. One thing that I wish the dustpan had though is grooves / ridges on the edge of the dustpan to clean the bristles of the broom.

Use the shelf side to store paper products, cleaners, brushes, or machine tools and parts. Shelves can be adjusted or removed to accommodate large pails. This is the smaller of the two racks — 35 long; the other is 50 long. Took less than 10 minutes to install and holds an amazing quantity of heavy yard tools, including two pickaxes, a sledge hammer, a weed wacker, and a whole lot more. I’m now ordering one of their larger racks Monkey Bars Yard Rack in Gray for the rest of the tools. In another review I posted my experience with Monkey Bar’s customer service. All that I can say is that it’s superb and responsive customer service. Hard to beat that.
I’m assuming you already purchased a broom, but as an FYI for anyone else reading this, I ordered from Amazon on May12th and received it on the 25th, even though it said 2-5 months. Amazon is generally really conservative on their estimates.

The $20 Libman Precision Angle Broom with Dustpan is one of the best-selling indoor brooms on Amazon and a smaller version of our runner-up pick. This broom had an inconsistent number of bristles per clump, which thwarted my plan to count the bristles of every broom we tested. inconsistency is a drawback, but it’s a bad broom for other reasons: It’s an inch shorter than our runner-up and has a smaller head. The bottom line: Our runner-up is better at sweeping.

Gardening supplies – Ask yourself the following questions when deciding which gardening tools to keep: Will you have a garden in your new home? Will you be responsible for yard maintenance or will a body corporate be doing it for you? Will you have a lawn? Do you even like gardening?
Personally, for close range I just use microfiber cloths or fabric softener sheets. It sounds weird, but the fabric softener sheets do a fine job of cleaning out lint traps too. I also toss them in with some water in on grimy pots or pans. You’re going to throw it in the trash anyways, might as well get some second life out of it. If you needed a smaller hand duster you could grab this: http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Microfiber-Duster/dp/B00940DV6W/ref=zg_bs_2245499011_2
Similar to synthetic dust mops, microfiber dust mops are made of plastic fibers. The difference is in the types of plastic that are used. In a past post, I created an info-graphic to show How Microfiber Works To Clean and how it is made. But when it comes to dust mopping, Microfiber is extremely effective.
This product is exactly what my husband was looking for to stored shovels, rakes, and hoes in. It appears to be very sturdy. We shopped the internet and ebay before buying this product and found good reviews from other users. The one thing about this product that influenced our decision is that they upright supports are metal not plastic. WalMart.com also had the best price for this product. We saved a lot buy purchasing from WalMart. We opted to pay the extra $7 to have the item shipped directly to our home and it was here in 3 days. Even paying the extra for shipping to home it was cheaper than any other site we found by over $15. Money in our pocket not somebody elses. 🙂
This rack is sturdy, but to be expected of a 4′ piece of metal tubing costing $100. The key to capacity is to support multiple tools on each hook. The sales literature indicates you can hang hooks on the back side. This would be great for wide tools like a push broom. Unfortunately, it isn’t so. The short hooks fit flush to the wall. So there is no way to mount a tool on the hook. The result is a 50% reduction in potential mounting area. It would work, however, if the rack were mounted on exposed studs.
Cost: Starting at around $100 (plus installation) for a no-frills Ikea model; $500 and up for finer finishes and better materials; more for a custom design. Be aware that most professional kitchen designers will do a piece like this only as part of a larger job — and estimating the cost of one component can be complicated.

Rather than looking for a specific type of frame, we considered anything easily maneuverable that could reach underneath furniture and into corners, with a sturdy handle and a smooth steering mechanism that’s easy to control. We wanted a dust mop cover that could be removed without getting dust everywhere, one that could hold a lot of debris before needing to be washed, and one that could survive dozens of washings. We also factored in the price of the a new cover, because it will have to be replaced eventually—$10 should be plenty.
There are a couple of other factors to take note of with cotton dust mops. When using them for dust mopping a floor in high humidity conditions, they will catch and drag because of the moisture. This causes them to be very difficult to use. Also, because cotton is a natural fiber, they are difficult to launder and are usually considered to be disposable.

Your top pick, the Casabella Wayclean Wide Angle Broom, seems to have been discontinued. I read the whole article and was all set to make my purchase but this broom can’t be had for less than $30 and that’s too much for a broom. Total bummer/waste of time. Great review though, keep it up guys.
I need a piece of furniture for the brooms, mops, buckets and possibly some cleaning products. I’d like something either quirky (e.g. industrial) or in keeping with kitchen (kind of shaker in Victorian house) but not matchy matchy. Any ideas anyone?

The brush’s sweeping surface is about 5.5 inches wide. We would have liked to see a wider brush to speed up the cleaning process, but the Up & Up’s brush was better at sweeping than the wider brushes we tested. It was the only brush we tested with flagged bristles for capturing dust, and its medium-stiffness bristles were the best at getting debris into the dustpan. Other brushes had floppy, unflagged bristles that flung dust into the air and left lots of residue on the floor.
