The first part of this history of the Broom Cupboard ends at September 1992, as the autumn season kicked off with more new series than ever before. In celebration a package of trailers, were produced, featuring an animated Andi and Edd.

Gladiator GearTrack wall storage offers flexibility: You can mount the horizontal track, then choose suitable hangers and slide them where needed. See how to build your own flexible garage wall storage system.

Purchased this to serve as a broom closet. For the price, I found it more substantial than I thought it would be. I haven’t installed the shelves and will put removable hooks inside to hold broom, mop, etc. in case I decide later to use it for other things. The inside height is only about 53; so I wish it were a bit taller and a bit deeper to hold more items. Otherwise, nice piece.

After looking for a suitable replacement for this product with no success I opted for the next best option, a rework. I tossed the flimsy plastic casters. Used some old 2×4 scraps to add support to the plastic bottom, attached the bottom to plywood, and added suitable casters. Still somewhat flimsy but hopefully will work long enough to justify the expense.

To test dustpans, we tried each one with our broom pick by cleaning half a teaspoon of flour and 1.5 teaspoons of cat litter. This test showed us how well each dustpan worked with our recommended broom and how effective each is at picking up, holding, and not spilling particles of all sizes. Some dustpans came with brushes; we tested those with their own brushes and with our pick for best broom. After eliminating six dustpans that abysmal at cleaning or way too small for our broom, we filled the remaining four with water to measure their capacity, and our panel used the finalists in the Chinatown test lab to find a winner.

This cabinet is being used as a linen closet. I love it. It looks like a pricy piece, and it is super roomy. Easy to assemble as well. Only down side is that since it is a more economical cabinet, it does scratch easy. you just need to be really careful with it. Other than that it’s perfect!

Of course families should not be cramped in tiny homes, but does that really have to apply to properties designed as pied-a-terres? There are thousands of central London ‘studio flats’ of less that 363 square feet which would not get approval if they were built now. They might be depressing to live in full-time, but that’s not how most of them are used. They are boltholes and crashpads for commuters who are sick of the five-day-a-week slog to London. If that’s what you want it for, you might not mind sleeping on a sofa-bed and cooking your supper on a two-ring hob — unless you order in pizza or Chinese.

The yarn is constructed of a very fine plastic fiber. They can be used both dry and even damp. This allows floors to be cleaned while dust mopping, reducing an entire step in some cases. The channels in the individual fibers grab and hold the very fine dust particles, preventing any of the dust from going airborne. Microfiber dust mops can be rinsed clean or laundered and increasing their usable life.

DIY IKEA Hacks for Kids’ Rooms: GRUNDTAL magnetic knife rack repurposed as a wall storage for toy cars.Ikea magnetic knife rack for car storage. Keeps the favorites handy and off the floor (saving my bare feet in the dark).

Easy shop project for home or school : build a garden tools shelf to organize your tool shed, garage or basement. Watch how I turn a couple of salvage boards and some screws into a handy storage rack perfect for hanging large/long gardening tools out of the way.

It picks up the dog and cat hair easily and stays in the duster until you shake it outside. Don’t shake too vigorously or the head will fall off. I like the product but it could have a sturdier base. Would buy again and recommend.

Hang to dry. Microfiber air-dries faster than most materials, and even the fluffiest dust mop heads we tested were fully dry within five to seven hours. If you must use a dryer (you really shouldn’t), then use low heat or tumble dry. Too much heat will melt and destroy your microfiber.

Summer morning links appeared again in 1989, under the abbreviated title of BFT. Simon Parkin was joined by two new presenters – 19-year old Andi Peters, who had previously presented Freetime on Children’s ITV and actually joined Children’s BBC for the half term holiday morning links a couple of months previously, and a former BBC production assistant called Stephanie Lowe, who is now Mrs Phillip Schofield!

The transfer of schools programmes to BBC2 led to the introduction of a daytime schedule on BBC1 in late 1986 and this signified further expansion for Children’s BBC. Phillip would pop up before and after Play School to read out the cards of children celebrating birthdays. The birthdays were always presented from one of the two small Presentation studios, from a small set which included a giant cake.

We learned that synthetic bristles are best for brooms because they’re immune to rot and can be cleaned with warm, soapy water. This means corn or horsehair bristles are out. The bristles must have flagged ends—intentionally frayed tips designed to capture dust, dirt, and hair at the broom’s sweeping surface. (In our survey and perusal of user reviews, we learned that many people think this fraying is a sign their broom is wearing out—not so!)

Opt for custom-designed shelves that run from ceiling to floor to increase storage and display space. Keep in mind the size of the things you want to store when determining shelf width and shelf spacing. Also, if you have kids and pets, consider anchoring tall shelving units and bookcases to wall studs to ensure they don’t topple.
