I purchased the broom cabinet online and it was delivered to a Walmart near my home. The cabinet has some weight to it (70+ pounds), so if you are picking it up by yourself you may need some help. It will not fit into a compact car. It was very easy to assemble, which I did by myself within an hour. However, a helping hand to hold the pieces in place would not hurt. I am able to fit a bucket, mop, and broom in the cabinet. I wish it was a little bit bigger, but it serves its purpose for now. I would recommend this cabinet.
Keep essential material organized and secure. Durable construction and reinforced shelves. Shelves are adjustable within 0.75 to fit your storage needs. Recessed locking handle. 3-Point locking system. Powder coat finish.
Received condition: Overall, all the pieces were in very good condition. Packaging was solid and the cardboard strength was good enough to keep most external protrusions to a minimum. The only damage was a slight dent into the beveled edge of one of the front doors. But it didn’t mar the paint so no touch-up was necessary. Assembly proceeded.

CNC turning tool holders are designed to hold either negative or positive inserts. Indexable ISO standard turning inserts with no clearance angle are negative inserts, and those with a clearance angle are positive inserts. Negative inserts are inherently stronger and have more cutting edges compared to positive inserts. Positive inserts are better for cutting aluminum, other non-ferrous materials, and low carbon steels. Turning tool holders for negative inserts have a 5 degree tilt to provide clearance that prevents rubbing on the workpiece. Tool holders for positive inserts have a 0 degree tilt, because the clearance angle is built into the insert. This means that positive insert lathe holders require less horsepower and can be used with smaller machines.

There are several mechanisms by which indexable carbide inserts can be mounted to a lathe tool holder. The screwdown locking style tool holder secures the insert with a countersunk screw through the hole of the insert and threaded into the tool holder pocket. Screwdown locking tool holders are primarily for positive style inserts. The clamp locking style tool holder secures an insert using a clamp that squeezes the insert in the pocket. The clamp is fastened to the tool holder with a machine screw. Clamp locking tool holders are primarily for TPG inserts. The multilock style tool holder is a combination of the screwdown style and clamp locking style. The insert is held in the pocket with both a lock pin screw through its cylindrical hole and a clamp squeezing its face. Multilock tool holders are primarily for negative style inserts. The wedge lock clamping style tool holder secures the insert with a specialized clamp that goes through the hole of the insert. The clamp is fastened to the tool holder with a machine screw. The advantage of the wedge lock clamping style is that it only takes a single action to index the insert, whereas the multilock style requires the loosening of both the lock pin and the clamp. This minimizes downtime. Wedge lock clamping tool holders are primarily for negative style inserts.

New research suggests skincare tailored to individuals’ DNA may be the best way to combat the appearance of ageing

Those who believe that beauty is only skin deep may need to think again. For the first time, scientists have gone right into our DNA to develop the most advanced anti-ageing serum ever created.

The new treatment, developed by one of Britain’s leading scientific innovators, is personally tailored to each individual and could revolutionise how women – and maybe even men – approach their daily skincare regime.

It relies on a new microchip that allows the product’s creators to analyse a person’s genetic code within just 30 minutes. Through this, they can discover how fast their body degrades collagen – the structural protein that keeps the skin plump and supple – and their level of antioxidants, which protect against damaging free radicals.

Using this information, they develop a personalised anti-ageing cream to deliver the right amount of collagen and antioxidants to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Clinical trials over 18 months have already suggested that the product, named Geneu (pronounced ‘gene you’), reduces fine lines and wrinkles by up to 30 per cent within just 12 weeks.

The skincare range was developed by Prof Chris Toumazou, Regius Professor at Imperial College, London, who invented the cochlear ear implant, which helped 10,000 deaf children to hear, the artificial pancreas for Type 1 diabetics and the wireless heart monitor.

The range is possible because of his latest invention, a handheld microchip device, which can sequence DNA in 30 minutes. He recently won European Inventor of the Year 2014 for the breakthrough.

Prof Toumazau hopes that by bringing the technology into the consumer arena, it will help the public get used to the idea of DNA checks which will ultimately benefit their health and encourage an era of personalised medicine.

“It’s not really skincare, it’s skin health,” he said. “The skin is the largest organ in the body.”

At Geneu’s New Bond Street clinic in central London, doctors take a cheek swab before isolating the DNA strands and injecting them into the microchip, which is then fed into a sequencing computer. In 30 minutes, the profile is ready and a serum can be created.

Dr Maria Karvela, one of the scientific advisers at Geneu, who administers the test said: “As soon as I heard about Chris and the microchip, I wanted to be part of it. It really is cutting-edge science.”

Most people degrade collagen at an average speed, but …
I’m a little old lady, and was apprehensive about assembling it by myself, but the instructions were clear with every step illustrated, and it went together quickly and tightly. The only difficulty I had was getting the package from the front porch into the kitchen: it was around seven feet long, and VERY HEAVY, partly because it was so well protected from potential damage in transit. I had the help of a small dolly, but a couple of healthy grandsons would have been nice, too.
I only had a narrow area in which to place a storage cabinet and this fit the bill perfectly. The beautiful brushed nickle handle goes great with my decor. Very pleased with the cabinet which was easy and fast to put together. It arrived in excellent condition and alot earlier than expected.
Get organized in the entryway or create a closet in a bedroom sans walk-in with this must-have shelving unit. Measuring 68.03” H x 45.24” W x 19.29” D, its frame is constructed from metal and durable resin. Neutral finishes of silver and gray make it work in any area of your abode, no matter the aesthetic. Plus, four tiers of slatted shelves and two rods for hanging are perfect for stowing everything from shoes to sweaters.
At this point in time, these cabinets are priced at $200. For that price point, I would expect much better quality hinges, metal supports for shelves, and screws for the backing material. As they are, the price should be closer to $125. Or maybe $150 with the free Prime shipping.

By now it’s become clear that Scandinavians and Nordic nations do a lot of things better than other countries. They have the smallest gender gaps, among the highest test scores, and the lowest levels of inequality.

Now, they’re set to rub their transportation superiority in our faces.

Finland’s capital, Helsinki, is about to launch a program that could virtually eliminate car ownership and give its residents the ability to plot an on-demand commute from their phones.

It’s mostly the vision of Sonja Heikkilä, a 24-year-old Helsinki transportation engineer.

Her idea was to create a real-time marketplace for customers to choose among transport providers and piece together the fastest or cheapest way of getting where they need to go. The providers’ services would be distilled into an app through which a customer could plan a route.

In her master’s thesis, Heikkilä used the character of Taneli, a 34-year-old married father of four young children, to demonstrate how the whole thing works. Helsinki already has a dial-up bus service called Kutsuplus (Finnish for “call plus”), which for more than a year has been letting riders dial up a minibus on their phone, choose their route, and select whether they want their own private ride, according to Wired. Here’s what the Kutsuplus app looks like:

Heikkilä’s vision combines minibus shuttle service with city bicycles and ride-sharing to all but eliminate the need for cars:

[Taneli] usually bicycles with his own bike to a station, ascends a bus, and carries the bicycle with him in the bus or leaves his own bicycle at the station and continues the trip with a city bike.

In case the conditions are not satisfying for bicycling, Taneli finds a car or ride-sharing service with the help of a platform that he uses through the mobile phone. In addition, a daily demand responsive transport service, such as Kutsuplus, fetches [his son] and his classmates from preschool and conveys them [home], where they can continue spending the afternoon together.

One app would allow to plan the entire route, including all modes, she told Business Insider in an email. However, there would be several competing apps, as there would be several private companies running the mobility operator business.

Heikkilä said the idea came about because Helsinki is growing too fast for its current transportation options, with a population projected to increase 40% in the next 35 years.

As a result, many people are forced to own a car, but 95% of a car’s life is spent …

I just had one of the most positive auto mechanic experiences I’ve ever had. I’m driving a little Honda coupe in the mid-Hudson Valley (perhaps not the greatest choice of vehicles, especially in the winter), and last night the bumper all but ripped off due to the many potholes and other road hazards around here. I asked around, and several friends recommended I go to Triebel’s to get it looked at. I drove in right as they were opening up this morning, and asked the mechanic to take a look. Everyone I encountered was exceedingly friendly, even though it was 8:30 in the morning. The mechanic told me I could wait inside, and that it would just be a few minutes. Not even 15 minutes later, he comes back in and says he was able to pop it back on, and that it will hold up until I can eventually get a new bumper (which I’ve been needing for a while now anyway). I never felt condescended, like they thought I was an idiot who knew nothing about cars, which is how I normally feel when I go to an auto mechanic. And the best part: he didn’t charge me a dime. I kept persisting, but he wouldn’t take my money. I don’t say this so that people should go in there expecting handouts and free service, but to testify to Triebel’s incredible service. For the remainder of my time in the Hudson Valley, I’ll only be going to Triebel’s for any auto service.

Ideally, a kitchen cabinet can hold both brooms and mops, as these two tools do the lion’s share of the work in this room. In addition to a tall, narrow space to hold them, you’ll need a safe place for cleaning solutions.
Where do you like to store your broom? Personally, I’m a fan of the empty slot beside the refrigerator. But there are plenty of places, and organizing tools, that can more elegantly stash that cleaning essential — often while maximizing what otherwise would have been wasted space. See how nine space-saving broom closets get the job done.

With our busy lives, there are little things that often get overlooked, like keeping track of how long we’ve used our pillows or bath towels. However, replacing these things in a timely fashion is efficient and helpful in having a smoothly run household.
I had given up all hope on finding an honest mechanic until I met these guys last week.  I’m tired of the salesman approach when it comes to finding out what’s wrong with your car and what it will need.  I read some reviews online prior to bringing my car in and heard they were very honest.  I had to get my car inspected and they found something major that needed fixing.  They gave me an estimate which was over $800 and wound up getting the work done along with a bunch other things for $773.  I made sure to tell them that I really appreciated their honestly and quality work.

Brittany Wenger is changing the game when it comes to cancer detection technology — and, at 19, she’s just getting started.

Brittany Wenger is one seriously smart cookie. In 2012, the then-17-year-old submitted her artificial brain technology — which assesses tissue samples for breast cancer — to the Google Science Fair and walked away with the grand prize. It was no wonder: Her invention, which uses a type of computer program called neural networks, can identify complex data patterns and make breast cancer detection calls with 99 percent accuracy. But she’s not stopping there: Brittany hopes to help wipe out cancer completely.

Since she took home the gold two years ago, she’s been named one of Time’s 30 Under 30, given a truly inspiring TED Talk, and launched her app, Cloud4Cancer, which allows doctors to enter their own data and fuel continued cancer research. And did we mention she’s also holding down a full course load at Duke University? Um, yeah.

We recently chatted with Brittany about how she got started, her challenges along the way, and how she balances being a college student with breaking the barriers of cancer diagnostics.

How did you get into computer programming?

When I was in 7th grade I took an elective class on futuristic thinking. When we were assigned our final paper, I decided to write mine on technology of the future. The moment I started researching artificial intelligence and its transcendence into human knowledge, I was inspired. I went out and bought a coding textbook, and taught myself how to code. I remember one of the first projects that I ever worked on was an artificial neural network that taught people how to play soccer.

You’re a self-taught coder who went on to create a potentially game-changing cancer detection tool. How did that happen?

Well, it definitely didn’t happen overnight. I spent over five years working with neural networks, starting with an entire year of research to try and recognize patterns and connect breast cancer to artificial intelligence. I faced a lot of roadblocks along the way, as this was a very complicated program with no predefined solution. I went through thousands of pages of coding and data that was available through public domains, and performed over 7.6 million test trials. I two failed projects before finally succeeding on my third attempt, taking what didn’t work the …
