The handle is equipped with foam grips that will make it easier for you to grip the pole of the broom without slipping. As a plus, it will also make it more comfortable to the touch which can add to your productivity.
The Lehmans Authentic Corn Barn Broom ($33) feels like the cashmere of brooms. It sweeps smoothly and softly, cleaning craggy pavement and shifting sand with finesse. It’s slightly too soft and flexible to yank leaves out of deck crevices, but it was the best broom in my sample for cleaning fine debris, bar none. Its handle is noticeably thicker than other brooms’ handles, with a circumference of approximately 3.75”, vs. 3.5” for the Weiler broom and 3” for Garrett Wade, though it still felt comfortable in our testers’ hands. It was also slightly shorter than average; its overall length is 54”, vs. 57” for the Garrett Wade Heavy Duty broom. Buy this broom for an exquisite pavement sweeping experience on fairly smooth surfaces—just remember to get a stiffer broom for your butler to clean the deck.
Thick synthetic bristles with feathered ends corral escapee Cheerios or clean up a toppled plant. Sturdy enough to move serious dirt. Padded handle for comfort. Give it a firm shake when done and debris falls right off.
In February 2008, M.O.P. left G-Unit Records, due to creative differences. Billy and Fame released their next album, The Foundation, in 2009 on E1 Music. The album featured production from DJ Premier, Statik Selektah, The Alchemist, and Jake One, and guest appearances from Heltah Skeltah, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, Styles P and Redman. The first single from the album, Blow the Horns featuring Busta Rhymes, and another track called Street Life, which is a collaboration with dancehall artist Demarco, was released on the internet.
No. We are not calling you names. The rubber head on this powerful broom is the main thing that makes it work so well. Each bristle is very sturdy when compared to nylon or other traditional types so they wont lose shape, wear down, hold dirt, or generally not work like those ones will. Each time you pull back on this tool, the rubber bristles will form a solid wall to collect dirt and remove messes. Even teeny tiny crumbs will not slip under or sneak through, and to make sure lighter stuff doesn’t fly away as you work, it will also build a static charge. This charge will eliminate the fly away effect that is common when sweeping hair and other fine particles in order to make that difficult stuff just as easy to sweep as anything else. On the back side of the head, you also have a flexible and efficient squeegee blade. As if the bristles alone were not enough to embarrass the broom sitting in your closet now, this added convenience really makes this a powerful tool. If the kids spill milk, or you just need to dry the floor after mopping, this blade will allow you to dry large areas quickly, and move any left over water into a compact area where it can be absorbed. It is super handy in the kitchen, but also nice when your basement floods, or you need to clean windows that are hard to reach.
Hang to dry. Microfiber air-dries faster than most materials, and even the fluffiest dust mop heads we tested were fully dry within five to seven hours. If you must use a dryer (you really shouldn’t), then use low heat or tumble dry. Too much heat will melt and destroy your microfiber.
Each Wonder® Mop has microfiber GRIPSTRIPS™ that lift up to 20% more dirt leaving your floors cleaner. With the power wringer you will be able to remove more water from the microfiber mop head allowing your floors to dry faster so you can be back on them sooner. The Wonder® Mop works great on all surfaces and can be machine washed up to 50 times.
A dry mop or dust mop is designed to pick up dry, loose contamination such as dust, earth, and sand from the surface of the floor. It consists of yarn and/or microfiber and is used as a first step in cleaning a floor.
The Quickie’s head is made of resin and its fibers are various sorts of polypropylene, so it can be used on material without fear of rot. At $14, it was also the second-cheapest broom in our sample—shipping costs from Amazon can throw that off, but it’s sometimes priced as low as $10 at Home Depot. It’s lighter than the O’Cedar (2 lbs. vs. 3 lbs.), although it’s about the same 64” overall length, depending on exactly how you measure the height of a broom with an angled handle. Online user reviews of the Quickie are usually satisfied—that is, as long as the handles remain intact.
What really helped was when I learned that you can slide the grip further up the shaft to a more natural gripping position. It’s still a little shorter than I’d find ideal, so my hands are a bit close together for super efficient sweeping, but it hasn’t proved to be a major problem.
This premier broom from Rubbermaid stands out through its highly ergonomic construction, one that recommends it for any type of job. It isn’t just suitable for household usage either, much thanks to its flexible yet very sturdy design. A sturdy polypropylene with flagged bristles traps makes it a very efficient cleaner. Interestingly enough, this broom can be used on both dry and wet floors as it is stain and odor resistant.
Wear sturdy, supportive shoes; these protect feet from injury. Avoid wearing footwear that is easy to slide out of, such as flip-flops, especially if using a step stool. Springy sneakers or lace-up walking shoes keep you on your feet, and protect toes from splashed cleaning solutions or a dropped tool. Add a cleaning apron with pockets for further protection, and to keep tools and cleaners close at hand. If your apron has side loops, hang spray bottles of cleaning solution from them ready for use. Line apron pockets with plastic bags to corral bits of trash. Stockpile a stack of cleaning cloths in one pocket, a cleaning sponge in another. You’re dressed to clean.
I LOVE this broom. It is the coolest thing ever!! It actually makes sweeping fun. For years I have been sooo frustrated. It seems as though I find strands of my hair in every room in the house, and they are almost impossible to successfully sweep up with a regular broom. I had never heard of a RUBBER broom before and I am so delighted with it. It is perfect for dust bunnies as well.
Adjustable height broomstick—Sometimes you’ll find that the broomstick is too long in some situations. For example, you can’t sweep underneath the bed, without hitting something (or someone) in back of you. So some manufacturers have made a broomstick with an adjustable height.
The best material for a reusable dust mop head is microfiber, because it’s the most effective at attracting and absorbing dust, and it lasts the longest when cared for properly. Cotton is the worst option because it can rot, it stretches when washed, and it must be treated with chemicals to attract and hold dust. Synthetic microfiber blends have none of those drawbacks. The backing of the dust mop head can also be cotton or synthetic, and you’ll want a synthetic backing for the same reason—cotton stretches when washed and rots as bacteria consume the organic material.
Likely to have originated from a forked tree branch, what we often call the pitchfork has its roots in agriculture. Forks are designed in different styles and with different numbers and sizes of tines, depending on the material you will be working.

The brush’s sweeping surface is about 5.5 inches wide. We would have liked to see a wider brush to speed up the cleaning process, but the Up & Up’s brush was better at sweeping than the wider brushes we tested. It was the only brush we tested with flagged bristles for capturing dust, and its medium-stiffness bristles were the best at getting debris into the dustpan. Other brushes had floppy, unflagged bristles that flung dust into the air and left lots of residue on the floor.
