The Weiler 44008 Corn Fiber Heavy-Duty Wire Banded Warehouse Broom with Wood Handle ($23) is a middle-of-the-road corn broom. Like the Lehman’s broom, it wasn’t quite stiff enough to get the leaves out of the deck crevices, but it was firm enough to do an excellent job of sweeping pine needle debris and sand, and made short work of fine particles of all sorts. It doesn’t have the sumptuous feel of the Lehman, but its handle is the standard size (57” total length), and it costs $10 less.

In the comments you will see that a representative of Tekton responded to my issues in my review and offered a replacement for the failed units without any paperwork or anything. All I did was to email her and in a few days I had the replacements. The shipping alone had to cost more than the product retail. Yes the product is weak, but the manufacturer really stepped up to customer support in a way seldom found today!

It’s well made, is quite sturdy–it hangs by four really long screws in predrilled holes in two studs–and looks good. The only thing I would quibble about is that it takes a while to get everything level and to drill the four holes with an electric drill before installing it. But it was easy enough. Just make sure you have the center of the stud. Mine are exposed so it was a no brainer (I heard that!). And the holes really do have to be drilled with a 3/16 drill. Any more and the attachment will lose strength. Any less and you will break your hand putting the screws in.

Hang to dry. Microfiber air-dries faster than most materials, and even the fluffiest dust mop heads we tested were fully dry within five to seven hours. If you must use a dryer (you really shouldn’t), then use low heat or tumble dry. Too much heat will melt and destroy your microfiber.

Each Wonder® Mop has microfiber GRIPSTRIPS™ that lift up to 20% more dirt leaving your floors cleaner. With the power wringer you will be able to remove more water from the mop head allowing your floors to dry faster so you can be back on them sooner. The Wonder® Mop works great on all surfaces and can be machine washed up to 50 times.Watch Learn More

When choosing a mop for wet cleaning, bear in mind its purpose; not only should it dissolve dirt, but it must also lift it from the floor and remove it. For this reason, avoid string mops. They are heavy to lift, awkward to use and nearly impossible to rinse clean.

The Libman Commercial 825 Rough Surface Heavy Duty Push Broom ($35) has a brace to keep the handle from twisting out of its socket, which is nice. However, between the heavy plastic block, the brace, and the metal handle, it carries a lot of weight towards the head of the broom, which can make it hard to move. Vorce commented, “The weighting is off… It takes four swipes in one area to get the leaves. It holds on to them like crazy.” On the garage floor test, its coarse bristles left streaks of sand across the floor. For the money, you could get a broom that performs better on a wider variety of conditions. Note: We intended to test the well-reviewed Libman 24″ Multi-Surface Heavy Duty Push Broom, but we acquired a very similar alternate by mistake; we will be testing the more popular item as well and will update the story with our findings.

HI! This is an amazing list! Thank you! A couple questions: I didn’t see them in the competition, but were Norwex or eCloth dry/dusting mops part of the test? My biggest frustration with sweeping large areas inside, is that I feel like small brooms take a long, long time to cover the space and get the job done. Do you think with the effectiveness of the top recommendations, that it would go faster? Or would your recommend a wider broom?

Unflagged Bristles—These are for larger particles of debris. Since the bristles aren’t frayed, this type tends to last longer. These broom bristles are better for outdoor use, since you will have to sweep up pebbles or gravel.

Glove sizing is not universal, so try them on. Look for specific men’s and women’s sizing. A one size fits all approach may be fine for some jobs, but gloves that are too big can slip off (often at the worst time). A glove that is too small or doesn’t fit right can cause something you are trying to avoid – blisters.

Polystyrene Bristles—These bristles are very flexible and recover even when being bent. Because they’re plastic, they can whisk away water without absorbing it. That avoids the bristles getting moldy.

Lets say you spill something like yogurt and granola on your kitchen floor. If you took your regular broom out and tried to sweep it up, you would have no luck washing the surface, and you would be left with a nasty looking broom that has bristles that are all stuck together, and possibly ruined. Use this rubber broom instead, and the bristles are sturdy enough to actually sweep this thick goo. Both the liquidy yogurt, and the dry, chunky granola will be swept up together, and will be easily collected. Use the regular bristles to get most of it into the dust pan, and then flip over to the squeegee side to sweep in anything remaining. You will still have a residue on your flooring, so add some soap and water, or squirt down your favorite cleaner and then scrub quickly using the bristles again in order to leave the surface sparkling. If it gets a little too wet, flip back to the squeegee side, and then dry it with ease.

Just like the material of bristles matter, the shape of bristles provides efficient performance by cleaning the carpets, mats or floors. Following is the shape of the bristles which collect the dust particles efficiently.

Several panel members mentioned that the Casabella has a tendency to flick or fling debris, but they were all able to adjust their sweeping technique to account for it almost immediately. One called it “a broom with a learning curve” but said it was the best at picking up dust and by far the most comfortable. Because the bristles are soft, gentle sweeping is more effective than vigorous strokes with our pick.

The best part about the Oxo Good Grips Sweep Set is its extendable broom, which adjusts for comfortable use by people of all heights. The second-best thing is the fact that the dustpan features dirt-grabbing teeth to keep the brush clean until the job is done.

This wide, well-balanced broom has a blend of stiff and soft synthetic bristles that can handle fine particles and heavier debris, wet or dry—and its handle connects with a unique fastener that you won’t see in the competition and won’t come loose.

If you have pets in the house, this broom will make your life easier. It is great and keeps our vacuum from getting clogged up with hair. Easy as can be to use and we plan on getting the larger one for outdoors for our porches and drive because it works so much better than a regular broom. Quite a broom!

Prune tall branches and limbs right from the ground! Reach branches up to 10 feet overhead without the use of a ladder. Features automatic bar and chain lubrication, chain tension adjustment, and 2-position adjustable head. Fits the same battery as the other rechargeable 24-volt cordless yard tools.

Adjustable height broomstick—Sometimes you’ll find that the broomstick is too long in some situations. For example, you can’t sweep underneath the bed, without hitting something (or someone) in back of you. So some manufacturers have made a broomstick with an adjustable height.

On November 18, 2014, M.O.P. released a new EP called Street Certified under Nature Sounds. It is executive produced by DJ Premier and features guest appearances from Maino, Mobb Deep and Busta Rhymes.

M.O.P. (short for Mash Out Posse) is an American hip hop duo. Composed of rappers Billy Danze and Lil’ Fame, the duo are known for their aggressive lyrical delivery style.[1][2] Although they maintain a strong underground following, they are mainly known for the song Ante Up, released on their Warriorz album in 2000, and with which they have had mainstream success.[1][2] The group has frequently collaborated with DJ Premier. Fame sometimes produces under the moniker Fizzy Womack, and has produced a significant number of tracks on all M.O.P. releases since 1996’s Firing Squad, as well as work for other artists including Kool G Rap, Teflon and Wu-Tang Clan.[3]

Harkey lay on the floor, face downward, where he had fallen; while Dutchy rested forward on the table, his yellow mop of hair buried in his mush-plate, the plate itself still tilted at an angle of forty-five degrees.

The O-Cedar’s cover isn’t the easiest to remove—that honor goes to the Full Circle Mighty Mop and the Scotch-Brite Microfiber Floor Mop, which have convenient folding mechanisms but were worse at cleaning. Use caution when unsticking the O-Cedar’s Velcro—that can send a puff of pollutants into the air. (Other dust mops with full Velcro heads, like the Simplee Cleen and the Bona, had a particularly bad problem with this.) Once the Velcro is gently undone, slip the cover off the frame and throw it straight in the wash.

Angled synthetic brooms are lightweight and work well to clean near baseboards, behind furniture and in corners. Use them indoors, as their lighter weight makes them impractical for heavier outdoor jobs. Store synthetic brooms head-up to avoid bending the bristles.

Brooms are easy to maintain properly, but most people don’t know the basic rules for doing so. Rule one: Don’t store your broom with its weight on the bristles. Hang it up using the storage loop, or prop it against a wall with the handle facing down. Leaving a broom sitting on its bristles causes them to bend, weaken, and even break, which shortens your trusty broom’s lifespan.
