It works pretty well on pet fur on my round throw rug but it would work better if the straight edge side wasn’t so flexible . It takes a good deal of effort to get the fur up when you are a 70 year old woman
Push broom handles are commonly made of wood or aluminum; plastic isn’t strong enough for pushing sand around. Unlike rake makers, push broom manufacturers acknowledge that broom handles commonly break. Most push broom makers sell replacement handles for their brooms that usually have threaded ends that screw into the broom head. One exception is the Rubbermaid Palmyra Hardwood Block Street Broom, which simply has a conical hole. As you might expect, it doesn’t stay together very well.
For smaller jobs, like mowing an urban lot, consider this zero-emission 24V model that’ll cut about 1/3-acre on a single charge. Going electric means no difficult pull-cord start, no fuel, and no maintenance or tune-ups. The machinefeatures a 1,200-watt permanent magnet electric motor and can fully charge overnight. Set your mower to discharge refuse, or have it collect in the included mulching plate or bag. The push handle folds down for space-saving storage.
The $20 Scotch-Brite Angled broom has a foam insert that’s supposed to make the broom better at sweeping somehow, but it does the opposite. The insert prevents the broom from getting into corners and around oddly shaped things like door jambs, and it is terrible at sweeping up everything.
You can ensure your home is clutter free and well organized by using RockBirds T56 broom holder. It is sturdy and versatile allowing you to organize more than just the broom and the mop. It gives you the chance to hold up to 11 items: Five in the friction grips and six on hooks. You can pull the hooks down if you so desire or push them back if there is not need to use them.
HI! This is an amazing list! Thank you! A couple questions: I didn’t see them in the competition, but were Norwex or eCloth dry/dusting mops part of the test? My biggest frustration with sweeping large areas inside, is that I feel like small brooms take a long, long time to cover the space and get the job done. Do you think with the effectiveness of the top recommendations, that it would go faster? Or would your recommend a wider broom?
I bought 3 pairs of these and installed them in my garden shed. They are rated to hold 15 pounds of dead weight and 2 of them broke under the weight of a normal garden spade/shovel which weighs less than 5 pounds. The fork weld to the screw just broke very easily. Very poor quality. Guess where they are made? China.
To make this product even more convenient and easy to use, it comes with an extendable handle that is designed to make the use and storage of this alternative quite easy. The extendable broom is purposely built to add versatility to this option.
The best material for a reusable dust mop head is microfiber, because it’s the most effective at attracting and absorbing dust, and it lasts the longest when cared for properly. Cotton is the worst option because it can rot, it stretches when washed, and it must be treated with chemicals to attract and hold dust. Synthetic microfiber blends have none of those drawbacks. The backing of the dust mop head can also be cotton or synthetic, and you’ll want a synthetic backing for the same reason—cotton stretches when washed and rots as bacteria consume the organic material.
Folks working at animal shelters LOVE this broom. It will definitely work when used as a push broom, but for certain applications, you’ll find that it works better when pulling. On a hard surface, it will easily clear fur and litter with a single pass, even when pushing. Try it out and you won’t be disappointed.
You might expect that the larger a broom’s surface area, the faster it will be at sweeping up messes. However, during our tests, we found that brooms with large heads tend to have stiff bristles that are less effective at sweeping up tiny specks. Our runner-up broom actually has a larger, 12.5-inch-wide head compared with the Casabella’s, which is 11 inches wide. Both heads are similar in thickness; our pick ranges from 1.5 to 2 inches thick and the Libman ranges from 1.25 to 2 inches thick. And yet the Casabella is the superior sweeper.
Not just any broom, but one that they thought could be essential to the sport of curling, which relies on the best broom handling out there as teams strategically cajole a polished granite rock across a sheet of ice.
The $18 O-Cedar Angler Angle Broom with Dust Pan is the best at sweeping cramped corners because of its sharp angle. It’s an effective sweeper and has the best bundled we tested. But its sharp angle and long, soft bristles fling piles of dust, so our panel eliminated it.

When choosing a mop for wet cleaning, bear in mind its purpose; not only should it dissolve dirt, but it must also lift it from the floor and remove it. For this reason, avoid string mops. They are heavy to lift, awkward to use and nearly impossible to rinse clean.
5 dollars isnt much, but these arent even worth that! just go to the hardware store or home depot these suck, one broke, one is currently working but we will see how long that is… 5 dollars for one working(for now) hook?!?! bad deal!
I have dogs, lots of dogs. This broom is great for sweeping up their hair and scrubbing dog kennels. My friend recently got a border collie and was complaining about all of the hair in the house. I bought her one of these brooms and she loves it.

Long as it has taken to tell the battle, beginning with the slaying of the Persian cat to the thrusting of the mop into Michael’s jaws, so swift had been the rush of events that the passengers, springing from their deck-chairs and hurrying to the scene, were just arriving when Michael eluded the mop of the sailor by a successful dodge and plunged in on Captain Duncan, this time sinking his teeth so savagely into a rotund calf as to cause its owner to splutter an incoherent curse and howl of wrathful surprise.
These come in three basic types: push, synthetic and corn. Push brooms are made from synthetic bristles arrayed in a wide flat base. They’re used to sweep large areas like the center of indoor rooms, garages, and patios. Rougher bristles allow the push broom to tackle irregular surfaces. Choose a push broom with tacked-in bristles, avoiding brooms that are merely glued together. Look for a metal coupling between the handle and the head; the stresses of sweeping will wear out plastic fittings quickly.
If you want to spend a little less, the Quickie 00528 18-Inch Bulldozer Push Broom Indoor/Outdoor ($14 + $10 shipping, or $10 at Home Depot) is one of the more capable tools out there—in fact, on fine sand, wet leaves, and stray pine needles, it was the best sweeper in our test. It’s on the narrow side, so it’s light and maneuverable, but it’s a little slower than the O’Cedar when covering a lot of ground. Both tools have a combination of stiff and soft synthetic bristles with two types of tips, which make them equally great for fine particles and bigger debris, wet or dry. The Quickie was almost our top choice for this guide, but there are a few too many users reporting its handle breaking for us to stand behind it as the main pick.

Professional flat mops are made for pre-moisting. Mops are pre-impregnated with an ideal amount of water mixed with an appropriate amount of detergent. This means that the cleaner does not need to bring any additional water on the cleaning trolley. This ideal amount is often recommended by the manufacturer in terms of weight percent of water per weight of the dry mop, for example 175% water per weight of the dry mop.
