As well as over-strenuous standards, housebuilding is now being held back by the absurd Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), whereby buyers of new homes bear the brunt of the cost of new roads, schools and playgrounds, even though these facilities are used just as much by the occupants of existing housing. In parts of Hammersmith buyers of new homes must pay £400 in CIL per square metre. That’s a mighty expensive doormat.
information night. this is April the 5th. I am wondering where or how I can get copies of these plans to present. I will use one of these plans in my garden shed, as I can see from these plans I have much wasted space.
Developers carry on building vast penthouses for pluto-crats but not, it seems, to satisfy the demands of more modest buyers. The space standards mean the end of any new residential property in London selling for below £400,000, and nothing for rent below £300 a week — banishing whole classes of worthy citizens from the central London property market. There will be no more falling out of the theatre straight into bed, no more aesthetes in Bloomsbury garrets; and for commuters, no more avoiding the daily crush on bus, train or Underground.
The classics include Andi not opening his microphones, and remaining mute for a whole link (although in fairness, most Broom Cupboard presenters did this at least once); Andi using the wipe effect on the vision mixer to intentionally obscure his new haircut, but forgetting to tell his technical crew in the gallery next door who went into meltdown when they saw the on air effect; and Andi’s absolute hysterics – to the point of barely being able to speak – when the planned use of visual effects in one link, which set up a vote on whether he should continue to sing the theme from The Chipmunks, went disastrously wrong.
I wasn’t expecting such a good deal on these cute hanging storage cups. They are much bigger and sturdier than I thought they would be. They are a great deal for the price. They do not come with instructions but are very easy to assemble. I would definitely recommend them if you want cute storage cups to hang on your wall.

We tested each broom by throwing half cups of flour, clay cat litter, and rice on a hardwood floor and sweeping it up with each of the 14 brooms and seven dustpans. We chose flour because it has a similar consistency and texture as dust, and cat litter for its heavy, dense particles of varying sizes. We wanted to sweep up broken glass, but had to settle for raw rice, as it was close enough in size and shape and didn’t endanger anyone. When sweeping, we noted how effective each broom and dustpan was at sweeping up the different materials and measured how much residue each left behind.
The O-Cedar’s cover isn’t the easiest to remove—that honor goes to the Full Circle Mighty Mop and the Scotch-Brite Microfiber Floor Mop, which have convenient folding mechanisms but were worse at cleaning. Use caution when unsticking the O-Cedar’s Velcro—that can send a puff of pollutants into the air. (Other dust mops with full Velcro heads, like the Simplee Cleen and the Bona, had a particularly bad problem with this.) Once the Velcro is gently undone, slip the cover off the frame and throw it straight in the wash.
Casabella was created with the novel idea that housewares and cleaning products could be great looking, fun and functional all at the same time. This was a radical concept in the 1980’s; today it is embraced worldwide. We invest our resources in the creative process to examine everyday tasks and design ergonomic and good looking tools.
He has previously described it as not an affair and just poom-bah-boom. But last night Boris Becker gave the most graphic account yet of how he became a father for the third time following his celebrated brief encounter with a waitress in the broom cupboard of a London restaurant.
If you tend to keep garden items in the garage, why not give them their own little home? In just one weekend you could build the perfect place to keep those garden items and get them completely out of your garage. The closet gives you space for larger garden tools, hanging plastic bins and a number of other things that you may need to store. Via: Familyhandyman – Garden Closet Storage Project

Outfitting a wall with different-sized cabinets, drawers, and garages lets you put every single thing in its own properly sited and easily accessed place. This design idea ensures cabinet interiors remain uncluttered and drawer contents stay orderly, which allows you to store more kitchen tools and pantry staples in more organized ways.
As you partake in the offerings and wonder just where you are, enjoy the classic blues music playing. Note the five-panel painting, our artist Andy Eccleshall’s tribute to the late Jim Boyer, who was a longtime Portland musician and member of a McMenamins’ favorite, the Freak Mountain Ramblers. Boyer is depicted in the center, and his lyrics are woven through the panels, to live on.
We used 3-1/2-in.-wide strips of 3/4-in. plywood for the strips because plywood is always straight and never splits—but pine 1x4s also work. Birch plywood was our choice for the strips and shelves, but you can also use less expensive BC plywood. You can rip 12 strips from one 4 x 8-ft. sheet—that’s enough for an average wall. We used four sheets of plywood for our system. For shelf edging, we used 1-1/2-in.-wide strips of solid birch (Photo 6). The total cost for our 20-ft.-long system was about $500, but you could cut that cost in half by skipping the fold-down workbench (Photo 5) and using less-expensive wood and plywood.
The best dustpan to pair with the Casabella Wayclean Wide Angle Broom is the $6 OXO Good Grips Clip-On Dustpan. The OXO clips onto our favorite broom’s handle, and its 10.5-inch-wide mouth is big enough to match the Casabella. It also sits flush with the floor to stop dust from slipping past, and its deep ridge keeps stuff from spilling out. Our panel unanimously agreed it was the best dustpan we tested; it took the fewest sweeps and left the least residue behind.
The purpose of the article is to get your creative juices flowing, not necessarily to have you copy what you see. Not everyone has an immaculate double car garage to start with. I don’t even have a garage, but a carport and I have done some really cool things there. Be a little more open minded.
