The O’Cedar 24″ Multi-Surface Push Broom ($22) is the best outdoor broom because it’s easily maneuverable, the handle stays put, it clears a lot of ground quickly, and it can tackle the most common substances you find on outdoor surfaces—all for a reasonable price. For a smaller, cheaper alternative (that doesn’t work quite as fast), we liked the Quickie 00528 18-Inch Bulldozer Push Broom Indoor/Outdoor ($14). Then, for a stiff, tough broom to sweep dry outdoor areas, the best performer after months of testing was the Garrett Wade Heavy Duty Garden & Garage Broom ($28). Scout’s honor!
Cluttering is a major enemy when it comes to home organization. In most cases, brooms and mops will find themselves placed carelessly at the corner of a garage, closet, shed or other storage areas. Broom holders provide the best, old-fashioned and clever way to avoid the mess caused by brooms collecting in corners or sprawling across the floor. A broom holder is inexpensive and very easy to install.
Professional dry mops consist of a flat sheet of microfiber textile or sheets with a surface of looped yarn, usually about 15 cm (6 in) wide, and comes in variable lengths (usually 30–100 cm (12–39 in)).
I bought 3 pairs of these and installed them in my garden shed. They are rated to hold 15 pounds of dead weight and 2 of them broke under the weight of a normal garden spade/shovel which weighs less than 5 pounds. The fork weld to the screw just broke very easily. Very poor quality. Guess where they are made? China.

The kitchen is a pretty dirty place. We prepare all of our meals there, pets eat near the floor, and it is the prime hangout spot in most homes. For this reason, the floor gets pretty tore up in almost every instance. If you are using a regular broom to get it clean then you are working too hard. Save yourself incredible amounts of effort, and cut the time it takes in half. Your floor will be cleaner, and you will spend less time and energy to get it that way. You don’t need to struggle to sweep up any of those annoying messes, you just need a better tool. You can definitely find a broom for a cheaper price if you look at big box stores locally, but you will replace it sooner, and each time you use it, you will be expending extra energy and frustrating yourself for no reason. The next time you are looking to replace your current broom, try this one and you won’t be sorry. It is definitely the best broom for your kitchen, but it also works great on any other hard flooring surface, and it can even clean pet hair, or longer human hair, out of carpeting. It is tough enough to work outside on concrete without wearing down, yet gentle enough to be safe for expensive hardwood flooring too. Discover a faster and easier way to sweep, and have a high quality tool that will save you money because it lasts for years.
After that, we applied the criteria to narrow the hundreds of sweeping products into the three dozen we called in for testing, which we’ve outlined below. After using the tools at home for six months, and getting more opinions from friends and Wirecutter colleagues, we’ve gotten more intimate with brooms than you’d think was possible. Now I can identify the make and model of any broom I see on the street or TV—a new talent I hope to never lose.
Partly to show the indispensableness of this act, it may here be stated, that, in the old Dutch fishery, a mop was used to dash the running line with water; in many other ships, a wooden piggin, or bailer, is set apart for that purpose.
I think Miss Pocket was conscious that the sight of me involved her in the danger of being goaded to madness, and perhaps tearing off her cap – which was a very hideous one, in the nature of a muslin mop – and strewing the ground with her hair – which assuredly had never grown on her head.

Matt Hamilton, the curler, said he discovered that he was able to generate greater force by holding the broom more upright. Kennedy, the Canadian curler, said he learned that pressure was more important than stroke rate. So now he sacrifices speed for the sake of power.
You may have seen similar products on TV, elsewhere on the internet, or at a home or garden show locally. When comparing this household rubber broom with any other similar item, you will find it to be easier to use, more sturdy, and longer lasting. If you compare it to the regular type of broom you are sweeping your house with now, there is no comparison. Chances are you’ve got an ordinary broom, made of corn or vinyl, which easily flares and doesn’t do the best job of cleaning. Dirt and dust only fly away as you try to sweep them up, and you never really achieve a dirt-free floor. The Household Rubber Broom from Sweepa makes cleaning any hard floor incredibly easy and will replace the tool you are using now. It has the ability to thoroughly sweep in a single pass and because it works so well, you will use less effort to achieve better results. The included squeegee on the back side is nice for drying floors, cleaning spills or doing windows. The flexible bristles are great for sweeping any type of debris, but can also be used with soap and water for scrubbing floors, washing boats, RV’s and vehicles, or cleaning hard to reach windows. This amazing tool is the easiest way to sweep annoying stuff like sand, pet fur, hair and fine particles, but you can use it on all of the regular dirt too. It is the perfect size for use at home, but can also be ideal for hair salons, pet groomers, kennels, professional cleaners and more.
Smaller hand brooms can be indispensable for keeping your office area clean. A close inspection of your desk and computer keyboard will likely reveal an unpleasantly copious build up of crumbs, dead skin cells, and other unwanted detritus. A small, soft bristled broom can gather all that minute material into a pile easily swept into an accompanying compact dustpan. Both items are available in sizes small enough be stored in a desk drawer.
