Use a level to make sure the top 1-by-4 is level. Hold it in place and drill two 1/4-inch pilot holes over each stud. Level and drill similar pilot holes over the lower 1-by-4. The top edge of the upper 1-by-4 and the bottom edge of the lower 1-by-4 should be 10 inches apart. Screw both 1-by-4s into place with 2 1/2-inch screws.

When the sunny days come back, we can not wait to get back to gardening. Nature awakens and with it, the garden is reborn from its lethargy of winter … A multitude of things is to make and remake every year for the garden looks its best at the most beautiful in the summer. And for this, we must be ready to draw: shovel, rake, hoe, shears and other garden tools essential for working the land and beautify green spaces.

The best dustpan to pair with it is the $6 OXO Good Grips Clip-On Dustpan. Its unique red rubber lip tapers to a fine edge and curves up the sides of the dustpan, making it by far the most capable tool for getting dust off the floor—without needing to be scooted back constantly as you sweep. It worked better than the other dustpans when paired with the Casabella broom, with a 10.5-inch opening wide enough for the broom head and a handle that clips securely to the broom handle. A taller-than-average 1.3-centimeter ridge keeps detritus inside the pan, and its rubbery handle was the most comfortable of any dustpan we tested.

We eliminated 12 dust mop heads that failed our flour test or didn’t hold up well in the wash. We tested each of the three finalists again with sifted flour and washed them one more time before long-term testing them all for several months in an apartment with two cats. The long-term tests revealed which dust mop could go the longest between cleanings, which could hold the most dust overall, and which ones held up best over multiple washings.

The morning schedules for Summer 1988 included The Pink Panther, Silas (again!) and Play School. Various components of the regular daytime BBC1 schedule, such as the hourly news bulletins and the bizarre anthology series Five To Eleven, remained. These looked rather odd surrounded by But First This presentation – with the presenters doing their best to look sombre while linking into the news, often in fancy dress. It was rather surreal.

I’ll pass your comments along to our editorial team so they know there’s interest in seeing wet mops reviewed. I too would like to see this. I don’t think I’ve ever had a wet mop that felt easy to use.

Our pick’s head doesn’t have as extreme an angle as some brooms we tested, but it’s angled enough to get into corners, around furniture, and into odd kitchen crevices. The Casabella’s fluffy bristles are great at dragging crumbs and dust bunnies out of corners, but our pick isn’t as good as our runner-up at reaching under furniture. (We’ll address this more in the following section.)

The emergence of Edd and Wilson as a comic double act was to lead to the eventual disappearance of Bobby The Banana. Bobby had appeared in the Broom Cupboard earlier in 1989 and despite being largely inanimate had somehow captivated the audience, triggering a mailbag brimming with all kinds of soft toy fruit and vegetables – Chris The Carrot, Olive The Orange etc.

Phillip’s departure left a void in the Broom Cupboard and to re-establish Children’s BBC without him, it was relaunched with a new look in September 1987. Andy Crane, complete with new hairstyle, became the new regular afternoon presenter.

Treated dust mops have been proven twice as effective as untreated tools. Pre-treated mops offer convenience, labor savings, and insure a properly treated product every time. New, non-petroleum based dust mop treatments give all the benefits of oil-based treatments without the environmental hazards. For correct on-site treating, use two ounces of treatment for every foot of dust mop. For retreating, use one ounce for every foot of dust mop. Before use, a minimum curing time of eight hours is recommended. When chemical treatment is not appropriate, choose a mop that picks up by static attraction making treatment unnecessary.

DIY Pegboard Storage – Organize tools with a hanging storage station made of basic pegboard. Items will be in plain sight and within reach when needed, and everything on the pegboard is removable and adjustable, which makes changes or updates easy.

Good product but, I think the company can do better on price. Only reason I didn’t but it at Home Depot or Lowe’s was because of Amazon Prime and convenience. Having said that, it is a good product worth 5 stars but the price for a piece of heavy duty molded plastic dropped it to 4. One of the things that does give it a high score for me is that they interlock. I have 2 of them side by side and they look like one long tool holder and they really keep things neat.

If you have brooms, mops or garden supplies that you want to hang out of the way, an inexpensive wall organizer is a great choice. You just attach it to the wall and slide items in by their handles. This is a great way to keep brooms and other cleaning tools off the floor and keep them easy to access.

Purchased the O’Cedar dust mop based on your recommendation. For hardwood floors, I understand I can use the mop dry. You mention in a response to a comment that it can also be used damp. Would you recommend just using water or sort of cleanser? And should the mop itself be dampened (with a spray bottle?) or the floor sprayed and then mopped?

Simple and stylish, this baker’s rack solves the storage issues of the kitchen. This versatile kitchen tower features a warm, oak counter with a butcher-block style appearance. Above the countertop, the two deep wire shelves are perfect for showing off fancy plates or spices.

You really don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on a garage organization system. You can make one yourself and save money, plus you get to make it exactly how you need it. Just adding a few shelves will help immensely with storage issues and when you utilize wall space, you have much more floor room for larger items. In later years Phillip was to become a West End star in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. These musical ambitions can perhaps be traced back to the Broom Cupboard, for he (and Gordon) first mimed the Ulysses 31 opening theme and on two occasions also sang along with closing theme to The Mysterious Cities Of Gold. He had previously copied out the song words by hand and sent photocopies to all those who wrote in to request them.

Came here looking for a mop rec because my current mop head broke after only a year, and, uh oh, you recommend the crappy one I am looking replace. It shouldn’t be that surprising that it broke considering the highest stress point (where the handle screws in) is made of fairly flimsy plastic. I’m looking to buy products that will last for the long haul and not end up in the landfill after a year or two and am willing to spend more to accomplish that. Curious if you guys came across any mop heads without plastic components.
