Attach the pad to your mop handle. Place your pad on the floor with the fibrous side facing down. Then, press the tip of your mop handle to the exposed side of the pad until the 2 latch onto each other.[11]

Personally, I like to save my vacuum for carpets/rugs, and I use a broom+pan+dustmop for hard surfaces. I start with the broom+dustpan to sweep up the “big chunkies” like dust-bunnies and the like, which tend to hind under chairs or tables, or underneath counters which overhang the floor, and then I follow up with the dustmop to collect finer particles in the middle of the floor and in areas with more regular foot-traffic. It’s just faster for me to be able to pull those tools out and go to town than it is to drag out the vacuum and wrestle with the extensions+cord to do the same job.

This broom features a soft edge technology which can protect your furniture or other personal belongings from bumping while you sweep about. It also utilizes a Fare-tip technology in the bristles which allows it to quickly capture or sweep away debris dust with absolute ease.

In 2001, a remix of Ante Up was released featuring Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, and Teflon, which was also very well received.[5] That same year, they collaborated on a song titled Life is Good with the pop group LFO. The song reached #40 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart.[9] Both singles continued the Posse’s long-awaited mainstream success.

The $18 O-Cedar Power Corner Large Angle Broom is similar to the Angler Angle Broom, but has a wider head and stiffer bristles. Its angle is great at getting into corners and under furniture, but its stiffer bristles are worse at sweeping up fine debris, and they fling dust.

Nothing beats kicking back near the glow of your backyard fire pit. It’s the Paul Bunyan-style log-splitting that’s a drag. You can split logs up to 20 inches long and 10 inches in diameter like butter with this 5-ton machine. It features a 15 amp induction motor and will run on regular household current, eliminating the need for fuel and the fumes that come with it. The compact machine can be easily moved by one person and comes with a six foot extension cord for added convenience. Two-handed operation keeps your hands clear of danger, requiring you to initiate the splitting away from the blade. It’s no hardcore 27-ton hydraulic splitter, but it’s also not going to cost you three times as much.

We learned that synthetic bristles are best for brooms because they’re immune to rot and can be cleaned with warm, soapy water. This means corn or horsehair bristles are out. The bristles must have flagged ends—intentionally frayed tips designed to capture dust, dirt, and hair at the broom’s sweeping surface. (In our survey and perusal of user reviews, we learned that many people think this fraying is a sign their broom is wearing out—not so!)

Prices, promotions, styles, and availability may vary. Our local stores do not honor online pricing. Prices and availability of products and services are subject to change without notice. Push broom heads are wider and flatter than corn broom heads, and the bristles are set into a wooden or plastic block that can be separated from the handle. You can sweep a larger area more quickly with a push broom than a corn broom, but there are trade-offs. They’re great for wide open areas, but getting a push broom into a corner is a challenge. The bristles on push brooms tend to be stiffer, thicker, and placed farther apart, so they can be less efficient at sweeping dust and fine particles (and some common dust particles are as fine as .1 microns across.) Some brooms, like the O’Cedar 24” Multi-Surface Push Broom and the Quickie Bulldozer—two of our picks—combine an outer ring of soft, fine bristles with an inner core of thick bristles, which helps the broom catch everything with some firm pushing.

Equipped with proper filtration, a vacuum cleaner swoops up dust finally and forever and removes it from the home. Vacuum cleaners come in two basic styles: canister and upright. Generally, upright vacuums do a better job on carpeting, are less expensive, and easier to store, while the canister vac does a superior job on hard flooring, stairs, and hard-to-reach places, such as automobile seats. For dusting, use the vacuum’s extension hose and specialty heads, such as an upholstery brush, dust brush or crevice tool.

Wall organizers help you take advantage of the space around a room and even overhead, so you can find what you need at eye level or above and keep clutter off the floor. From peg boards to bike hooks, Ace can help you find a place for everything in your home, basement and garage. For additional storage solutions, you may even want to consider incorporating heavy duty shelving and water-resistant totes.

The Swiffer’s biggest appeal is the convenience of disposable cloths, and Procter & Gamble emphasized this advantage over washable dust mops in our interview. But despite the Swiffer’s ease of use and ubiquitous popularity, the fact that there are more effective cleaning options available—plus the Swiffer’s higher monetary and environmental costs—means that it isn’t the best choice for most people.

To finish, a dry cover polishes away the last of the water and since the terry covers can be machine-washed and dried, then reused, you’ll avoid the expense and environmental problems of disposable mop liners.

Go Hookless: Clip the tips from No. 6 hollow wall anchors, drive them into pegboard, then secure your tool holder by driving screws into the anchors. Short lag bolts fit snugly in the holes to create additional hangers for lightweight objects.

5 dollars isnt much, but these arent even worth that! just go to the hardware store or home depot these suck, one broke, one is currently working but we will see how long that is… 5 dollars for one working(for now) hook?!?! bad deal!

Installation is tool-less, easy and quick. Its broad, solid base provides optimal stability meaning it will not tip over even when large tools are stored on it. The broom holder has integrated holes at its top to let you anchor the tool rack to the wall. Although it can carry up to 30 tools, at times the weight may tip it over.

Brooms are a slow-moving technology. They have been effectively the same—a handle with bristles for sweeping—for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. According to this fascinating broom history by J. Bryan Lowder, synthetic fibers were first invented in the 1940s, and started appearing in brooms in the 1950s and ’60s. We don’t see any crazy new developments like that on the horizon, so you shouldn’t worry about your broom becoming obsolete.
