Store router bits, drill bits, screwdrivers, awls, pencils, Allen wrenches and hole saws in a chunk of 1-1/2-in.-thick rigid foam insulation. To make this pointy-tool pincushion, just glue the foam to 1/2- in. plywood sized an inch wider than the foam. Be sure to use foam-compatible adhesive (PL 500 is one). Then press the foam into place and let it dry for a few hours. Punch holes for the accessories by rotating a small-diameter Phillips screwdriver or an awl at a slight angle into the foam. The tools will widen the holes to fit as you push them in. Screw the plywood to a shop wall over your workbench and load it up!

Design-wise, the slots are close enough to make hung items pretty crowded, and I had to forgo using one slot on each of my two holders. With the right selection of items and very careful arrangement, all of the slots could probably be used. An added benefit to making the holder longer, with more widely spaced slots, would be that you could sink both of the outer pairs of screws into studs for a sturdier and stronger mount. (It wouldn’t work for every application, but for those where it doesn’t, you could just mount the center screws to studs, as with the current model.)

JUNK! Ordered 4 of these. Wont hold a light broom. Slips right down and hits the floor. I don’t know if the ones I got are faulty since I have ordered them before and they worked just fine. But the current model is JUNK. I would have returned them but having just opened a brand new restaurant I had other things needing my attention.
