The new autumn season of afternoon programmes was heralded as New Progs On The Box in a long-form trail cut to the New Kids On The Block hit, The Right Stuff. In addition to clips of programmes from the new schedule, the trailer included specially shot scenes featuring Andi, Edd and Wilson. These included London’s Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus where the Children’s BBC logo appeared on one of the famous electronic advertising hoardings.
Half a dozen visitors are being given a tour of the printing museum Saturday by director Mark Barbour while Soinski is in his dressing room – a broom closet in the back – getting ready for the big finale: a personal visit from Ben Franklin in his colonial print shop.
When we first dove into broom research, we discovered that no one else reviews brooms, dustpans, or dust mops—individually or as a category. We found a list of best-selling brooms, a slideshow of “the best brooms,” and a Tip of the Day from Consumer Reports that points out that brooms don’t use electricity, but vacuums do. (The more you know!) With so little information out there, the only way to find the best cleaning tools was to get down and dirty with a few dozen of them.
Edd and Wilson eventually returned to the Broom Cupboard. Edd particularly liked the theatrical release Dick Tracy, starring Warren Beatty and Madonna, and regularly appeared in tribute, wearing a yellow raincoat and hat, as Duck Tracy. In the movie, Madonna’s character was called Breathless Mahoney and so in The Broom Cupboard, one of Edd’s feathered friends appeared – as the mute Quackless Baloney!
The Casabella Wayclean Wide Angle Broom is the best at sweeping, the most comfortable to hold, and the least expensive broom we tested, and the OXO Good Grips Clip-On Dustpan is the best to pair with it. To round out your cleaning kit, we recommend the O-Cedar Dual-Action Microfiber Dust Mop. Its double-sided head was the most effective at capturing dust and could clean the longest before needing to be washed.
The presenter was Phillip Schofield. who had recently returned to the UK (he was born in Oldham and grew up in Newquay) after several years of living in New Zealand. Although he was unknown here, he was rather more famous there, as a presenter of children’s and young people’s programmes, in particular a series called Shazam!
Mrs Becker, meanwhile, was surprised but not hysterical after learning of her husband’s infidelity. Certainly my straying hastened the split with Barbara. The tensions had been getting worse for months, he says. The couple split up shortly afterwards.

Carpet in a garage? I am that person. I was reading a section above and saw that. I love woodworking and restoring, up cycling, recycling and refurbishing! I LOVE carpet because it helps trap the dirt and dust. It makes it SO much easier to clean and BREATH! Just an idea! I will never have anything but carpet in my garage/workspace. Just an idea!
After interviewing experts, surveying readers, and researching what makes a great broom, dust mop, and dustpan, we scoured retailers and manufacturer’s websites and compiled spreadsheets of 95 brooms, 50 dust mops, and 70 dustpans. We also visited physical stores to find out which brooms are widely available from different retailers.
The tower rack was pretty sturdy and was easy to assemble minus the fact that the casters fit in the holes at the bottom, but wouldn’t stay. (In the picture they are there because they stay there, but once you move it, they fall out) The casters are meant to just pop right into a predesigned hole. Almost like the holes were too big for the casters. From my understanding, you can place the tools in there one of two ways. One way is straight from the top. Just slide down into place. That’s not really the best method to do it if it’s in a shed due to lack of height. The other way, if I’m not mistaken is to go through the side. Going through the side is a bit difficult. Maybe the tools I have (mainly husky), are too wide in diameter. It was tough to push through the side. It advertises 40 tools, but I think comfortable I could probably fit half of that. Please make sure that you do not leave personal items unattended and ensure that you take all of your belongings with you when you leave. The Broom Cupboard is not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged on the premises.
Why: If you have the space, a tall cabinet with a partition in the center is a great way to store a lot while keeping everything in its place — vacuums and sweepers on one side, cleaning products on the other.

A few years ago I was fortunate enough to have some money *and* a reliable contractor, and the result was a new garage. But once it was done, I couldn’t bring myself to put nails or hooks into the shiny new walls that I had just painted. So I went off to look at tool racks.
Dust mops are available in a number of styles to fit different applications. Twisted-loop mops offer the highest level of dust pickup, and they’re also less likely to get snagged on objects and fixtures. Looped-end mops offer excellent coverage and hold up to repeated launderings without fraying. Some cut-end mops can be laundered and reused, but many are considered disposable and are not designed to be washed. Some commercial dust mops are made with antimicrobial agents that resist the growth of bacteria to help keep the mops sanitary between washings.

One frugal viscount comforts himself that his bedsit in Kensal Rise is just large enough for him to change into his dinner jacket before heading up into town. Julian Fellowes is said to keep a 250 square-foot studio in Chelsea where he can write in peace. Other tiny flats are rented by students who would rather be self-contained than share a rancid house in Tooting with mountains of other people’s washing-up and pubic hairs in the bath.
We used 3-1/2-in.-wide strips of 3/4-in. plywood for the strips because plywood is always straight and never splits—but pine 1x4s also work. Birch plywood was our choice for the strips and shelves, but you can also use less expensive BC plywood. You can rip 12 strips from one 4 x 8-ft. sheet—that’s enough for an average wall. We used four sheets of plywood for our system. For shelf edging, we used 1-1/2-in.-wide strips of solid birch (Photo 6). The total cost for our 20-ft.-long system was about $500, but you could cut that cost in half by skipping the fold-down workbench (Photo 5) and using less-expensive wood and plywood.
From unboxing to installation it took about 3 minutes – less time to install than it did finding my drill/screwdriver and deck screws (deck screws work fine for my install). This comes with no screws and that is fine with me I already have a box. I installed this inside the garage above a pegboard to get the giant yard tools up out of the way.

The $13 O-Cedar Dual-Action Microfiber Flip Mop has a wide, microfiber and synthetic blend chenille head that can hold more dirt than any dust mop we tested. It was the only dust mop we tested that could pick up an entire tablespoon of spilled flour, and it could cover more area than any other dust mop before needing a wash—we needed six Swiffer sheets to clean the equivalent square footage (and those weren’t as effective, either). It’s big enough to work quickly, yet nimble enough to get dust from corners, and its refill covers are affordable and durable.
