Measure and cut two 1-by-4s to fit the width of the wall or space where you want to hang rakes, hoes, shovels and other heavy tools with long handles. These 1-by-4s will fit parallel on the wall, one above the other.

An in-vision presenter was hired, bringing the Corporation up to date with rival ITV which had linked its children’s output in this way since February 1983. But the BBC service differed in one major respect – it was live.

Same junk as before. The handle attachment point is the same and breaks after about a year. It breaks at the point where it swivels and mounts to the dust mop head. Also, the microfiber mop itself is re-designed and does not pick up dust and pet hair as good as the yellow mop head. I know this is trivial stuff, but when you use this product day in and day out, you want this simple item to just work…..and it doesn’t……

I just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration I found in your garden tool rack plan/blog. I modified it a bit, increasing the dimensions to 48 x 32 and using 3/4 plywood and 2x4s. The added width increased stability and I was able to use an 8-foot sheet of plywood with no waste. I also had to decrease the on-center spacing of the holes to 3-7/8 to allow for a 12 x 8 grid of holes between the outer frames of 2x4s. The materials cost a bit more, but the result is heavy-duty and it saved a ton of space, not to mention holes in my shop liner!

I had to share. I don’t know what the internet has become, but this is one of the worst articles I’ve ever read. It said the same things over and over again. None of the so-called tips are useful in the least. Organize a wall! Organize a corner! Organize an area! Not helpful.

This tool storage caddy looks great in the photos. It held all of my yard tools as described, however; 16 days in it has collapsed und the weight of the tools. This was not a wise purchase. I would not recommend this item. Look for something much more sturdy!

I have sold flooring for more than 15 years and I would never advise using vinegar on wood, vinyl or laminate. It is an acid and will eventually destroy the finish. Additionally, steam cleaners should never be used on wood or laminate floors. Laminate floor joints are especially sensitive water and the steam will eventually weaken the impregnated resins that protect the joints.

Really decent overall. If you’re planning on putting a lot onto it, similar to what’s shown in the picture, just know that the fit is a lot tighter than what’s shown. I’d recommend maybe 2/3 of what’s shown in the picture to have it feel decent if you’re using your tools often.

The Empress is the card of femininity and fertility, not only the mother of children, but also the career of others, and the nurturer of the Earth around her. She is the voice of reason and the healer of troubles. She is definitely the matriarch. As such, she sacrifices her own needs for those she loves. But beware anyone who hurts her children or her loved ones. She will do battle like a lioness! Happy Empress day ladies!!! Blessed Be xx

While Andy was busy working on But First This, Simon Parkin returned to present the afternoon links, around a summer schedule including Gentle Ben, BBC Manchester’s sport series Move It!, a We Are The Champions special with Ron Pickering and the 1979 German drama The Legend Of Tim Tyler, dubbed into English. Simon’s features included namesakes – for example the two Paul Daniels seen here, more silly photos and his one-off, yet legendary, impression of Mickey Mouse.

This video from Bunnings Warehouse will show you how to install a broom cupboard in your kitchen or laundry area. You’ll learn to find and mark the timber studs in your walls. Then we show you how to position and level your cabinet. Finally, you’ll see how to attach it to the wall.

Reclaim your garage or garden shed from a haphazard collection of garden tools. These extra-sturdy storage hooks keep shovels, hoes, rakes, brooms and more off the floor and safely out of the way. Each rack can hold three or four tools. Mounting hardware is not included. Set of two racks.

Locate studs using a stud finder and mark them with masking tape, then draw a level line 3 ft. above the garage floor. Start at the center of the wall with a 4-ft. level and work to each side. Garage floors often slope, so don’t simply measure from the floor to establish the line. Set the first strip above the level line, screwing it to every stud with two 2-1/2-in. screws (Photo 1). Space the remaining strips so they line up with the screw holes on the standards you use—ours were 22 in. from center to center.

Creating a garden tool rack for stashing stuff in the unused spaces between studs is a smart move; adding these slant boxes to expand the space is smarter yet. They give your yard tools more “headroom” and give you easier access to long- and short-handled tools.

Eric Pickles would not make the ideal occupant of the original London broom cupboard — a 60 square-foot former janitor’s room in a block in Knightsbridge, which was sold for £36,500 in 1987 and recently valued at £200,000. But is that any reason to prevent more slender figures from seeking arelatively affordable bolthole in central London?

The O-Cedar’s refills don’t have the best build quality. There’s a small loop that O-Cedar told us is designed to help pull the head on and off the frame. (We think the loop is also useful for hanging the dust mop head to dry.) The loop worked well to hang the cloth, but when we used it to lightly tug the cover off the frame, the weak stitching on one side of the loop broke. The next time we washed the O-Cedar’s head, the loop came off entirely. This isn’t a dealbreaker because the loop isn’t crucial, but it was annoying to see it break so easily.

A very popular series running on Children’s BBC at this time was BRB Internacional’s 26-episode Around The World With Willy Fog. BRB, based in Madrid, had produced the hugely successful Dogtanian series which the BBC had acquired and shown several times previously on Children’s BBC. Willy Fog was based on the novel by Jules Verne and portrayed all the characters as animals. The theme tune was rather catchy and was sung by Andy on more than one occasion, who even trotted out the Spanish version one afternoon. Accompanied by postally distributed songsheets, the interest peaked with the mounting of National Willy Fog Day, on which Andy again sang the opening title music, only this time he did so from one of the Presentation studios, keyed afront of the titles and dressed up in turn as all of the characters.

This shelving unit is a great idea. I bought two in white from Amazon. You put it together with step by step instructions. You only need a screwdriver, and about 20 minutes. The second unit took me about 5 minutes, after I got my practice out on the first unit. You can hang it if you like, I chose not to. One great feature is that you can use it either horizontal or vertical, and the cubes will still fit either way. Overall, not a bad purchase.

Buy, build, or repurpose furniture pieces that bring fun forms and finely tuned function to walls throughout your home. This kicky colored sideboard doubles as a wine cabinet, cocktail-making station, and a storage spot for party goods. A stemware rack mounted to the bottom magnifies the piece’s purpose.

Call it tool storage on the go. This tool-holding unit comes with wheels, so you can put it to use in the garden before returning it to the garage or shed. It also offers interchangeable shelves and bin.

Home Depot’s $13 HDX 15 in. All Purpose Large Angle Broom with Dust Pan is one of the worst brooms we tested. It isn’t effective at cleaning up flour or cat litter, and its dustpan’s lip is too steep.

The oil residue will also cause the floor to become sticky and attract dirt. If a high-speed burnisher is used over this oily, dirty film, the floor finish will begin to yellow in the traffic lanes. The oil can also be tracked on to adjoining carpet areas, making them more difficult to clean.

This material, or an off-the-shelf skylight, could be added to a section of the roof of an existing shed to add more natural light to the space. DIY Pegboard Storage – Organize tools with a hanging storage station made of basic pegboard. Items will be in plain sight and within reach when needed, and everything on the pegboard is removable and adjustable, which makes changes or updates easy.

There was a change in the afternoon line-up from Christmas 1989. Andi Peters began to present Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, reducing Andy Crane’s appearances to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This allowed Andy to accommodate his occasional presenting of Top Of The Pops (recorded at Elstree on Tuesdays), and the audience to get used to his eventual successor – for only a few weeks later Andy announced, on Going Live!, that he was leaving Children’s BBC.

The Platinum Tools 4007 Hanging Pouch is designed for use with other lines of Platinum Tools, such as the TCC220 Coax Clarifier or the T62 Recon Test Set. It has three interior zipper pockets for storage. It is a tri-fold design with a plastic buckle to keep it securely closed. There is also a ring for hanging the pouch from a hook.

Why is this broom so effective? Most of the magic is in the bristles. The Casabella has 2,880 bristles; 96 clumps with 30 bristles each arranged in four staggered rows. Because the PVC (polyvinyl chloride) bristles are so dense and well-arranged, they create a thick forest for sweeping and trapping dust, ensuring that few particles are left behind. Our pick is about 25 percent thicker than our runner-up, which has 2,184 bristles, arranged in four rows that leave small, diagonal paths through the broom for dust and other particles to escape while you sweep.

With the cover on, the frame measures just under an inch tall, so it will fit under most raised furniture to clean out dust bunnies lurking underneath. (The handle and steering mechanism can also lay completely flat, and are shorter than the frame with the cover on.) Our pick is easy to steer, not loose and rattly or stiff and challenging to turn. It stands about 50 inches tall, and the plastic-coated steel handle doesn’t extend like others we tested. That’s a little short, but not so short that it is uncomfortable to use.

This storage system solves two challenges: first, how to design storage space for the narrow alley between the garage side wall and the family car; and second, how to create a solid mounting surface to hold shelves and hooks that are capable of carrying hundreds of pounds of stuff.
