Eric Pickles would not make the ideal occupant of the original London broom cupboard — a 60 square-foot former janitor’s room in a block in Knightsbridge, which was sold for £36,500 in 1987 and recently valued at £200,000. But is that any reason to prevent more slender figures from seeking arelatively affordable bolthole in central London?

We tested the Casabella against 13 other brooms by sweeping a half cup of flour, cat litter, and rice, and our pick was the most effective at sweeping all three types of debris. It was, simply put, the best sweeper we tested.

Excellent product for an on the go gardner. The tool rack is well made. It went together quickly and with little effort because the parts were well engineered. The front wheels allow the tool rack to be used as a cart for moving the tools around to the work-site. The price was reasonable for the delivered quality. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I suppose that depending on the type of vacuums people have, it may not be able to get into as many spaces as a good old-fashioned broom could. Then again, it may, but maybe not without extensions (which, personally, I like to avoid pulling out and using unless I have to). Maybe it doesn’t need extensions… in that case, a broom still has cordlessness going for it. Unless you have a battery-powered vacuum… then I guess there’s really nothing a broom can do that that a vacuum can’t. I think it’s mostly just preference, really.
