A tower rack in the corner gives you the perfect storage solution for brooms and other long handled items. Many of these are on wheels so you can easily roll them wherever you need them or get a stationary one to keep in the corner for permanent storage. Shovels, rakes and other longer tools store perfectly. Via: Amazon.com – Rubbermaid 5E28 Deluxe Tool Tower Rack with Casters, Holds 40 Tools

Hang a pallet on your wall for a convenient way to hang large tools. Slide hooks over the wood slats on the pallet, or hammer nails into the wood, then hang your large tools from the hooks. This will free up floor space and is a great way to store your tools when you don’t have a lot of space.[6]

Unlike many cleaning tasks, using a steam mop requires absolutely no chemicals. Rather, the steam mop heats the water (distilled water is often recommended), the heated water loosens the dirt, and a microfiber pad attached to the mop head absorbs the dirt. In general, steam mops are suitable for all hard floors; however, there are a few caveats. Most hardwood and laminate floor manufacturers recommend against using steam mops — and doing so can void your floor’s warranty. Many steam mops say they can be used on sealed wood floors, but, again, the manufacturer may disagree with that. Always check your floor’s warranty (if still in effect) to be sure that using a steam mop won’t void it. And, if you want to try a steam mop, do so on an out-of-the way section of your floor to see if it will work without damaging the flooring.

The wall mounted holder works well, nothing slides down (so far) and the storage seems secure. My only suggestion to make this a 5-star product would be to have a small tab to push up the spring mounted arms that hold your items in place. I don’t have an issue loading or unloading a handle, but my Wife does. She complains that the springs are too strong (but they need to be). She can get things out of the organizer but leaves me to put them back 🙂 . Rather than use the supplied hardware I used wallboard anchors that are a bit more substantial. With six of these holding up the Mop and Broom holder, it’s not going anywhere. We purchased two organizers: one to mount one behind the door to the laundry/mud room for mops, booms, a hardwood floor sweeper and a yard stick. The second will go in my garage to store a broom, scrub brush, paint roller handles and a push-broom. It’s difficult to see it on the product photos on Amazon but there are also six flip down hooks, they aren’t heavy duty but rather a nice place to hang light-weight items. If you are looking for a way to get similar items off your floors and out of corners, this has item has met my expectations and then some.

Love your organizing idea, especially since our before picture looks so similar to yours. I don’t have a band saw, just a table saw and chain saw. Any chance you’d think of marketing bags of already cut and drilled PVC. I’d be a happy customer. Cheers you! Sandra

The shape of the mop head fits into corners and tight spaces (like around the toilet), but it’s still large enough to cover a lot of square footage quickly. The 23 foot cord and 20 minutes of steaming time also mean that you can cover a large area without stopping. The mop head swivels easily, and the light weight of the unit makes it easy to push around, while still being sturdy enough that it didn’t feel as if it would break easily.

Bought today from walmart: SHARK S3101 STEAM MOP…I also bought the DISPOSABLE PADS for use to try it out instead of using the WASHABLE PAD it came with….my floor was cleaned with SWIFTER PADS prior to so I could get an accurate result. It streaked my floors so bad they look HORRIBLE! I have vinyl plank flooring…The ONLY place the DISPOSABLE PADS picked up any dirt was on the 6 places it attached to as you can see in pic. While it doesn’t say much about SWIFTER PADS it says LESS about this product. It also doesn’t appear to get as hot as it should as the floor stays WET longer than it should after application. I WOULD definately NOT recommend this steamer to ANYONE! It will be returning to walmart 1st thing tommorrow!

While drywall serves as the most common wall finish throughout most modern homes, it’s not always the best choice for the garage. In addition to being difficult to finish properly, drywall simply isn’t as useful as other wall finishes when it comes to maximizing the functionality and organization in the garage. Before hanging drywall, consider alternative materials that add a practical or decorative touch in garages and workshops.

For hand tools, you could repurpose one of those hanging shoe organizers, the fabric ones with the pockets (like this one), and hang that on the wall. Then you could use the pockets to store the hand tools. Or you could use a pegboard to hang your gardening hand tools on the wall just like any other tools. (the first tool on the left is my hori hori knife, one of my favorite gardening tools!)

Wood sheathing, such as plywood or oriented strandboard (OSB), represents a simple yet economical finish option for garage walls. It can be fastened directly to the wall framing using screws, yet requires none of the taping and finishing associated with drywall. Wood panels work well for covering insulation, but you might want to caulk or otherwise seal the joints between panels to prevent air leakage through the wall. Plywood and OSB also create an effective support and fastening surface for shelves and other additions to garage walls. Leave walls natural or paint them to achieve the desired finish for your garage.

This product was easy to install and is very functional. I love that it has hooks that fold down to hold random items, like my dust pan and Swiffer duster. It is a little bulkier than I imagined, but I really didn’t know what to expect. This product was super easy to put up and is exactly what I needed to add a little organization to my laundry room!

Hi Marji. I just read about this over @ Lorie’s Be Different Act Normal. This is such a great idea and it’s really great that you took the time to make a tutorial for us. I’m now a new follower and look forward to seeing more. I’ve got to pin this now.

Our favorite feature is the removable water tank. It was so convenient to pop it out and bring it to the faucet to refill, or to dump out the extra water when we were finished cleaning. All the steam mop manuals advised not to store the mop with water in the tank, and it was a chore to hold the whole mop over the sink or outside in order to empty the tank. With the Bissell 19404 PowerFresh, this wasn’t an issue, and we were grateful for the thoughtful design.

In testing at all three of the sites mentioned above, the Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop 1940 performed well in cleaning a variety of messes, including ground-in dirt and dried food spills. It also had the ability to produce just the right amount of steam to get floors clean, without leaving them overly wet. YourBestDigs.com notes that it took only about two minutes for the floors to dry after using the 1940, or, as they note, about the time it takes to put the unit away and walk back across your floor without leaving a trail of footprints.

You do not need any skills to install this unit. It comes complete with its 10 screws and 10 wall anchors for easy and quick installation. For your benefit, Anybest broom holder comes with a lifetime warranty, which is unique. While it works perfectly with plastic handles, metal handles tend to slip slowly from the grips. Anybest is working hard to correct the problem.

It only took slightly longer to remove dried-on food soil than our top pick, the Bissell 19404 PowerFresh. It cleaned our high traffic areas at least as well as a conventional mop, without the hassle of hauling around a mop bucket and waiting ages for the floor to dry. Plus, you can start sanitizing the floor after three minutes of use, although you do need to pass over the area with a backward and forward motion at least 15 times.

This cleaner is shaped like a tank, and with good reason. It holds up to 1,420 ml of water, so it can be used for around 45 minutes without needing to refill. That’s just over double the amount of use time as the other finalists. The only drawbacks we found were that the shape was a little more cumbersome than the models shaped like conventional mops, it took a little longer to heat up, and that the boiler was hard to fill without spilling.
