As for the double-sided tape, if you do use it and need to take it down, a few drops of acetone (nail polish remover) can be dripped behind the shadow boxes and it will loosen the adhesive.  (This should ONLY be used on surfaces like bricks that won’t be stained by the acetone.  Never use it on painted surfaces.)  Then, to remove the residue that Christine mentioned, Goof-Off or similar solvents works well.  Don’t use paper towels to clean the residue. The paper tends to tear up on rough surfaces like bricks and leaves behind white junk on the bricks.  Instead, use a cloth rag and don’t rub hard.

The tool rental department associates are extremely helpful! It was my first time doing a project and the associate Jamile explained to me step by step how to use the machines and guided me with picking out the necessary accessories to complete the job and even suggested I get some safety goggles, and a dust mask for my own safety.

Other farmers quickly planted acres of broomcorn and joined the trade, as broom cultivation and construction was a fairly simple side-job that could fit easily into the pre-established rhythms of agricultural life. By the first few decades of the 19th century, a number of versions of the “broom machine”—a set of vices, clamps and a foot treadle (essentially a tension apparatus that uses the broom-maker’s feet to keep a roll of twine taut as he winds it around the broom corn)—had been developed that made broom manufacturing even quicker.

Love the mop…too bad the mop head was sticking out of the box and the pegs on the sponge that you screw to the mop head were broken, making it impossible to use. Luckily, I purchased a replacement sponge at the same time and used that to replace the original. The mop works great though..it’s a little taller than my old mop which is great.

If you’re not an experienced builder, toenailing the purlins into place can be tricky since it’s hard to drive nails and keep the purlins at their marks. Avoid this frustration by using fence brackets. Nail them to the outside studs on the front and back walls with 8d nails, keeping the tops 1-1/2 in. above the top of the shelf supports. This keeps the tops of the purlins and the shelves (installed next) aligned for a flat surface.

Biological: There are currently no registered biological agents for use on French broom or gorse. However, the gorse weevil (Apion ulicis) was accidentally introduced into California in 1953 from France. The weevil feeds on seeds, spines, and leaves of the gorse plant, but has had limited success for control. There are two approved insects for Scotch broom, a stem miner (Leucoptera spartifoliella) and a seed beetle (Apion fusciostre). However, both insects have had limited success in California.

Cut panels for the back and front walls following Figure A. Install the front panels, starting at a corner. Then install the back panels so they butt together over the middle stud on the wall. Don’t worry that the panels don’t fully cover the corners. You’ll cover them later with trim.

Hey Newf,  you were right.  The stud finder scanned the studs just fine in deep scan mode (and sometimes partially detected them in normal mode).  By far most of the project was just pinpointing the stud to use.  The remaining two steps of drilling the pilot hole and installing the hook were really quick and a piece of cake, after that.
